Mary’s Step Challenge

with No Comments

We continue to work hard to raise funds for our Emergency Appeal, which we have launched to support the eventual re-opening of the Daybreak clubs. One of our trustees, Mary Tovey, bravely decided to take on a sponsored challenge for the appeal. Mary has been walking up a flight of stairs in her apartment block (17 steps) for a total of 26 times, starting on Sunday, 26th April. Mary explains the reason she is so keen to support the appeal:

‘I found Daybreak from the JR when my dear husband, Brian, was assessed as having dementia in 2015 – he died at the end of that year. I have first-hand knowledge of how incredibly helpful Daybreak was to Brian and to me at the most difficult time of our married life. Daybreak has become dear to my heart and even more so since I became a Trustee in 2017.’

You can still donate to Mary’s challenge by using the donation button on this website. But you could also take up your own challenge for Daybreak and create an event to support us. We are sure you have lots of ideas, but if you want to tell us about your thoughts or get some more information on how you can help, please get in touch: jitka@daybreak-oxford.org.uk
