Fun and games with a real purpose

We currently have three Daybreak centres in and around Oxford. Our clubs in North Oxford, Kidlington and Greater Leys all have the same ethos but each have their own personality.

The essence of each club is involvement, activity and fun. Anything from quizzes to word games, physical exercise to music, singing and dancing, poetry-reading to scrabble, art and craft, crosswords to ….whatever the individuals want.
When you arrive at our clubs, you might think you have come to a party, but underpinning everything we do is an established scientific approach, using Cognitive Stimulation Therapy.
We see each member as an individual, with their own interests, preferences, abilities and needs. All members are treated with respect, dignity, sensitivity and kindness.

Daybreak is unique in providing social and therapeutic respite days for people living with dementia, helping couples stay together at home, thus delaying or avoiding residential care.

“It is clear to us she benefits greatly from going to the Club – she has friends there, she enjoys herself and always returns with a smile and a much better sense of self-esteem and engagement with life” Ms W, daughter

“He really enjoys going and always comes back with a smile on his face.  For my part, the two mornings I get on my own are a lifeline and enable me to sort out everyday problems so that when he comes home I can devote myself to him and do things with him that he enjoys” Mrs I wife

The cost of attending a Daybreak Club is £27.50 per day.  This cost is subsidised by our fundraising efforts – please see the ‘Support Us’ section for more information.
