Daybreak Dementia Clubs

Day club attendance is one of the few treatments for dementia.  Daybreak is unique in providing social and therapeutic respite days for people living with dementia, helping couples stay together at home, thus delaying or avoiding residential care.  We help ease social isolation and provide a therapeutic environment for people with dementia through a person-centred approach to care.

We offer a wide variety of activities including:

  • Music therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Games to provide mental stimulation
  • Gentle exercise programmes

Staff teams have adopted the ‘Making a Difference’ approach to Cognitive Stimulation Therapy.

“It is clear to us she benefits greatly from going to the Club – she has friends there, she enjoys herself and always returns with a smile and a much better sense of self-esteem and engagement with life” Ms W, daughter

“He really enjoys going and always comes back with a smile on his face.  For my part, the two mornings I get on my own are a lifeline and enable me to sort out everyday problems so that when he comes home I can devote myself to him and do things with him that he enjoys” Mrs I wife

The cost of attending a Daybreak Club is £20 per day.  This cost is subsidised by our fundraising efforts – please see our ‘Support Us’ section for more information.  We can also offer advice on transport arrangements.
